Planning : Choosing a location
Location for the shoot was key, as it had to embody everything that the film was about. Firstly the location had to be visually aesthetic as it would be appearing in a cinema format. This meant it had to have a very symmetrical look. The theme of the film is about the lessons of life, and therefore I thought it would only be appropriate to set the film in a school / college.
The building has a lot of greenery surrounding which can be indicative of the idea of new life, and beginnings within the story. The old bricks can represent how old and fragile life is and that It could go at any time. The ideal location for the film would be Wroxton Abbey, as it has all these attributes including acres of green that would be excellent for wide and drone shots. This alongside with the fact that it comes with a library and many classrooms that we can use to film particular scenes for the trailer.
This why by choosing this location we can achieve that cinema quality look alongside with a bit of colour grading.
